Wargamming, Painting, and More…

I started The Rules Lawyer in 2008 in order to share some of my miniature painting on forums.  This blog  has grown in scope since then to include utilities, DIY tutorials, and even some game development.  I’m hoping to further branch out into starting some video tutorials.

I’ve been playing games for decades and have played a wide range of genres, from board games, to tabletop and RPG.  I think my earliest memories of gaming has to be playing Battletech back in middle school. I’m not just a hobbyist, I’ve worked in the video game industry for 14 years.  You might have heard of games such as Starsiege Tribes, NFL Blitz, Mortal Kombat, and more.

My longest running table top games have been Babylon 5 Wars, Battletech and Flames of War. I’m mostly into war-games, but I do branch out on occasion. I’m always looking out for new games. If you have something awesome to share, I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Hi there,

I read your review of Wool on Amazon, and I think my novel my new novel, Snowfall on Mars, is something you’d read with interest and pleasure. You clearly have an interest in dystopian fiction and mystery, and I think my novel succeeds where you believed that Wool failed. It’s available on Kindle Unlimited, and I’d be happy to send you a complimentary copy as well. I hope you’ll consider reviewing if you decide to read. Thanks!
